EYE-TO-EYE (the festival quarterly)

‘Eye-to-Eye’ is the European Festivals Association’s (@EFAfestivals) Festival Quarterly. It assembles a variety of voices that speak about our society, the state of the arts and reasons why the arts exist, concepts, and moments in contemporary life. Eye-to-Eye zooms into the perspective and minds of six individuals who ask themselves in one way or another how the arts and their place in society make sense to them.

Ada Mușat is a non-binary multidisciplinary artist, interested in exploring anything that fuels their creative drive. Self-described as a ‘jack of all trades’, they have always maintained an open horizon by embracing a variety of artistic mediums, including comics, street art, photography, tattoo art, installation, performance, and theatre.

Drew Hemment has been one of the key figures who has shaped the field of digital art and culture in Europe. He has worked with cities and nations representing culture and research at the highest level.

Esto Association is a design studio with an interdisciplinary practice based in the Exarchia neighbourhood in Athens, Greece. The studio’s main focus is the use of design as a medium to address current societal problems and engage in political, social and humanitarian issues. Esto wants to highlight the generative power of design and the possibilities that artistic practices can open up in critical and socially active ways.

Rusanda Curcă is a rural DJ, cultural, environmental and civic activist. As main objectives to develop and promote access to art and culture in rural areas and marginalised groups. Rusanda is interested in the dynamics of cultural ecosystems, supporting participatory governance and the democratisation of culture.

Robyn Archer AO is a singer, performer, writer, artistic director and public advocate for the Arts. She is known to many for her one-woman shows in the 1970s and 80s, by others for her original songs and recordings, and now by thousands more for her memorable arts festivals in Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide and Tasmania. After years Robyn has returned mainly to writing and performance.
