Culture Action Europe members are invited to join a lunchtime presentation of the MEMEX: MEMories & EXperiences project on Thursday, 17 February 2022, 1-2pm (CET).
Audience engagement and inclusion are two challenges faced by cultural and social organisations. MEMEX is a 3 years European research project (H2020) that promotes social cohesion through collaborative, heritage-related tools, both an app and a methodology, that provide inclusive access to tangible and intangible cultural heritage and, at the same time, facilitate encounters, discussions, and interactions between communities at risk of social or cultural exclusion.

Working hand in hand with socio-cultural organisations in the three pilot cities (Paris, Lisbon and Barcelona), MEMEX partners have developed a storytelling methodology through storytelling workshops and policy recommendations. Focusing on capacity-building actions and project’s impact assessment in the socio-cultural sector, the two policy briefs prepared by MEMEX are aiming to target policymakers from local to European level that can set up coordinated actions responding to actual needs, to ultimately affect political decision-making and programming.

During this lunch encounter, the MEMEX partners will talk about the app, audience engagement, mobilisation, digital storytelling & policy recommendation developed by the project.

We are delighted to have among us Corinne Szteinsznaider from Michael Culture Association who will give us more details about the project, Dina Dionisio from ITI who will take us through the MEMEX app. Cristina Da Milano from ECCOM will present both storytelling methodology used by the project and the policy briefs that were developed by the partners. Fran Gracia from Interarts, Inès Martorell from Dédale and Ivo Oosterbeek from Mapa Das Ideias will tell us more about the pilots.
