An Overview of the 2023 Reports

In 2023, the #Culture2030Goal Campaign, coordinated by IFLA, published a document called “Culture in the Voluntary National Reports: an Overview of the 2023 Reports.” This document outlines the different approaches to incorporating culture in these Reviews, applauds notable practices, and points out areas that require more attention.

Over the past years, the Culture2030Goal campaign has monitored the inclusion of culture in Voluntary National Reviews (VNRs) to assess how effectively governments are integrating cultural factors and stakeholders into their sustainable development efforts (notably from 2016-2019, and again in 2022).

This report continues the series by examining the Reviews published in 2023, aiming not only to highlight particularly noteworthy examples but also to explore the various approaches governments take to incorporate culture into their broader actions.
