Towards an EU Strategy for International Cultural Relations

February 7, 2017, 2:48 pm

CAE members and partners will contribute to a public hearing organised by the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) on 1 March 2017. The main purpose of this event will be to exchange views with representatives from institutional and civil society stakeholders operating in the field of culture, particularly in its international dimension.

The Joint Communication “Towards an EU Strategy for International Cultural Relations” will serve as backdrop for a series of interventions from experts that will spur a wider reflection on the role that culture can play in European international relations. After each panel, there will be a debate where all attendees will be welcome to intervene.  These hearings are an opportunity for the Members of the study group working on the Opinion to hear the input from stakeholders before finalizing the EESC opinion.

Jordi Pascual from Agenda 21 for Culture, Mercedes Giovinazzo of Interarts and Ferdinand Richard of the Roberto Cimetta Fund will participate in the debate entitled “Perspectives from civil society in international cultural relations”.
