Towards Digital Ethics in Cultural Organisations | CAE Lunchtime Presentation

April 20, 2023, 1:00 pm | April 20, 2023, 2:00 pm
20 April, 2023

European Network of Cultural Centres: ENCC is glad to invite members of Culture Action Europe to join a lunchtime presentation on 20 April at 1 pm.

Digital presence, outreach and tools are the cornerstones of any cultural organisation’s activities. But how do we navigate the digital shift without losing sight of ethics and mission? How can cultural operators identify alternative tools and platforms that are sustainable, inclusive and respectful of our communities’ data? How can we build digital infrastructures that reflect our values? How to perceive digital technologies as culture, inextricably related to cultural rights?

The European Network of Cultural Centres (ENCC) will share their experience in preparing a switch towards more ethical digital tools, in terms of infrastructure and outreach, but also everyday office tools. They will also present their brand-new publication on digital technologies for cultural organisations. You will receive an invitation to join their working group on this topic, to participate in their guilt-free, low-ambition, burning-topic collective experimentation as it unfolds.

Speakers:
Lucy Perineau (ENCC Communications and Publications Manager)
Pierre Huyghebaert (graphic designer, type designer, cartographer and teacher engaged in practice-based research on digital and its boundaries)

Register for the lunchtime talk here.

Open for Culture Action Europe members only. Check out the benefits of joining the CAE network here.
