The partners of the Creative Europe funded project WE-Hope project are glad to invite members of Culture Action Europe to join a lunchtime presentation on 9 June 9 at 1 pm.

“WE-Hope: Out of Crisis Experiences, Hope for the Future” promotes understanding of the challenges that refugees face, and how we can all become activists to promote tolerance and inclusion through collective creativity.  The project specifically focuses on a memory work and storytelling aspects of migration during WWII and more recent waves of refugee arrivals in Europe.

The project believes that bringing these stories into dialogue will contribute to a recognition of shared experiences that can promote a sense of common humanity and citizenship. There is also an additional intergenerational dimension, an intended dialogue between elders and younger generations.

Three main activities of the project consist in:

  • Creating a digital repository filled with testimonies of migrants and refugees in Europe.
  • Creating open-access learning resources on the topics.
  • Working with artists to create a live installation and performance based on the themes of the project.

Six partners and two associate partners have delivered WE-Hope. The University of Lincoln leads the project and is joined by Michael Culture Association (member of Culture Action Europe), Memoro Italy, Greek Bank of MemoriesNational Technical University of Athens and Threshold Studio.

Open for Culture Action Europe members only. Check out benefits of joining the CAE network here.
