The Culture Programme is the only instrument of the European Union exclusively dedicated to support arts and culture. Today, the 15th of December 2010, is the deadline of the European Commission’s public consultation on the next Culture Programme. The Commission will use the input from the consultation to design the next generation of the Culture Programme after 2013.
The we are more campaign has now submitted its contribution that has been prepared by Culture Action Europe following extensive discussions and consultations with its members and partners.
In its contribution, the we are more campaign asks for a bold and daring Culture Programme that will support innovative cultural co-operations, and experiment with new artistic, intercultural, social and economic models. The objectives of the new Culture Programme will have to be refocused, its design and management improved, and its budget increased.
Both individuals and organisations can submit contributions to the European Commission’s consultation and the more individuals and organisations that do so (even if this means that 1000 individuals and organisations submit the exact same contribution), the more likely it is that the contribution will be taken into account.
