In this Newsletter, CAE expresses its real concern over the 2021-2027 MFF negotiations: After EU leaders called on Charles Michel to take the MFF negotiations forward with the aim of reaching a final agreement, the European Council President called a special summit on February 20 to discuss the next EU budget.
Culture Action Europe has campaigned for #Double4Culture and #1%forCulture since the launch of the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) negotiations in 2018, highlighting the fundamental role of arts and culture in different EU policy areas and its contribution to building a shared, prosperous future for all European citizens.
Now, cultural stakeholders are calling on EU leaders to show a higher level of ambition in shaping a brighter future for Europe through increased EU investment in culture and the arts.
What about you? How can citizens and organisations support increased budget for arts and culture in Europe?
In this MFF Negotiation Special we offer you concrete tools to contribute to our campaign: You’ll become aware of what can and should be done to defend and promote culture during budget’s negotiations.
CAE invites you to join our #ActforCulture day on February 17! Cultural operators and organisations from all over Europe will be putting pressure on their national governments to recognise the contribution of culture as a necessary force for equal, inclusive and free future of Europe.
