Final call for experts to support the European Capitals of Culture
This is the last chance to apply for the open call for experts launched by the Capacity Building for European Capitals of Culture. All interested professionals are invited to send in their applications before the end of February 2022. Check out the eligibility criteria here.
The Capacity Building for European Capitals of Culture project supports capacity building and peer-learning activities for European Capitals of Culture (#ECoCs). In order to do so, the project offers professionals from a variety of disciplines the opportunity to form part of a database that pools experts to support the designated European Capitals of Culture in various fields defined by needs analysis at the beginning of the project.
The following are the areas of expertise sought:
- Audience development
- Conflict resolution
- Change management
- Legal (referred to intellectual property rights and licensing agreements for culture)
- Monitoring and evaluation in the cultural sector
- Communications
- Coordination
- International relations
- Management
Candidates are assessed by a selection panel of five members, approved by the European Commission, and have knowledge and experience in the fields identified: Mercedes Giovinazzo from Interarts, Jordi Pascual from UCLG, Giannalia Cogliandro Beyens from ENCATC, Becky Riches, Cultural Project Manager in Matera 2019, and Caroline Kadziola, Cultural Project Manager Mons 2015. Learn more about the selection process here.
The ECoCs are invited to draw from the available profiles in the experts’ database when seeking specific skills and knowledge. After three evaluation rounds and more than 500 received applications, the database currently counts 243 experts.
All applicants will be informed about outcomes by email. The successful applicants’ profiles will be automatically admitted to the database of experts. Please note that inclusion in the expert database does not automatically imply recruitment: contracting a given expert for a specific service is at the ECoCs’ discretion.
