The topic of culture and sustainability has long been at the heart of Culture Action Europe’s advocacy actions. Among our priorities is the affirmation of culture as the fourth pillar of sustainable development, and raising awareness about the role of culture in implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. This focus reflects a trend that is gaining momentum in the post-Covid world.
As a network, Culture Action Europe addresses the topic of sustainability from three distinct but interconnected perspectives: a comprehensive contribution of the cultural community to sustainable development, a shift of cultural practices towards more sustainable models, and advocacy to ensure the sustainability of the cultural sector itself.
