The Secretariat of the Human Rights Council is currently accepting applications for the Special Rapporteur in the field of cultural rights [HRC res. 28/9]. The deadline for applications or nominations for the post of UN Special Rapporteur is June 18th at noon GMT.Any UN Member State, international organisation , NGO or individual is allowed to nominate an expert, individuals themselves can also apply for the post of UN Special Rapporteur in the field of Cultural Rights .
Member organisations of the Arts Rights Justice working group have produced a checklist in order to give additional guidance to applicants and those who want to propose a candidate. This appointment will be approved by the Human Rights Council on the last day of the Council’s 30th session (scheduled to take place from 14 September to 2 October 2015).
