#CulturalDealEU ahead of the 2024 European elections

The Cultural Deal for Europe, CAE’s joint campaign with European Cultural Foundation and Europa Nostra, is gearing up for the upcoming European parliamentary elections. In addition to the open letter for culture to be prominently featured in the 2024 electoral campaigns, the CDEU recently heard from MEP Sabine Verheyen, calling for the reaffirmation of |our commitment to culture as the “cornerstone of European unity and resilience“.

In this video, Sabine Verheyen, Chair Committee on Culture and Education, answers questions like ‘What can culture do for Europe? What can you do to raise the status of culture in EU’s strategies and policies? What can politicians and cultural civil society do together? What is your key message to the European voters? What is be your key message to the European cultural sector?’

Culture can do so much more than what we often realise, it fosters a sense of belonging that transcends borders, uniting us in our diversity, serving as a bridge to our local communities, it reflects their unique needs and challenges while narrating Europe stories through diverse voices, offering different perspectives and sparking meaningful dialogue“.
