Coming up – Campaign demands on the structural funds

January 12, 2011, 1:44 pm

After submitting our contribution to the public consultation of the next generation of the EU Culture Programme in December, we are currently busy preparing a more detailed position paper on the Culture Programme as well as preparing our demands for our second campaign objective  – earmarked support to culture in the next generation of EU structural funds.

The first step in developing our demands will be to make a contribution to the public consultation of the European Commission’s so called Fifth Report on economic, social and territorial cohesion for the upcoming deadline the 31st of January.

This public consultation marks the first formal step of the negotiation process of the future EU structural funds, and submitting a contribution allows us to already now communicate the campaign’s top line demands.

When drafting our contribution, we will for sure draw inspiration from the Study on the contribution of culture to local and regional development – Evidence from the Structural Funds, that the European Commission published in December 2010. A most recommended read!
