UAxEU | Advocacy and Cultural Policy – Perspectives from Ukraine and Across Europe
The first of four knowledge exchange session hosted by the UkrAinian cultural eXchange with European Union (UAxEU) initiative is taking place Wednesday 28 October 2026 and will explore how advocacy, cultural policy, and international cooperation can strengthen collaboration between Ukraine and the wider European cultural sector.
The exchange aims to shift the focus from solidarity expressed primarily through support to solidarity practised as collaboration, reciprocity, and shared responsibility. The perspectives gathered during the session will help shape the themes and priorities of the remaining three knowledge exchange sessions, ensuring they respond to the needs, questions, and experiences emerging from participants and the wider UAxEU community.
The session will introduce the UAxEU project before hearing the perspectives of two experts in advocacy and cultural policy debates from Ukraine and the EU. Participants will then join smaller discussion groups to share their experiences and ideas on how advocacy, cultural policy, and international cooperation can be strengthened between Ukraine and the broader European cultural and creative sectors.
