“The value and values of culture” now in French

February 7, 2020, 2:11 pm

In February 2018, Culture Action Europe in collaboration with the Budapest Observatory and other CAE members published “The Value and Values of Culture”, a collection of relevant evidence substantiating the positive impact of culture across a range of EU policy fields.

We are happy to announce that this publication (executive summary) is now translated in French. “La valeur et les valeurs de la culture” is an advocacy tool: we invite our French speaking members, partners and the wider cultural and creative sector to use this policy briefing in lobbying activities to ensure that culture and the arts are recognised as fundamental for building a sustainable future for all.

The relevance of this publication is particularly valid in the actual policy framework, with the ongoing negotiations on the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) and the upcoming special summit on the EU Budget 2021-2027 on February 20, 2020. Culture Action Europe calls for a Europe-wide mobilisation of the cultural and creative sectors (CCS) urging the EU Council to support the European Parliament’s proposal to double funding for the Creative Europe program and acknowledge culture’s contribution to building a shared, prosperous future for all European citizens.

We invite you to join in Culture Action Europe’s campaign, by adapting, signing and sending this letter (also available in French and other EU languages) to the Heads of States, Ministers of Culture, Finances and Foreign affairs ahead of the Council summit of the 20th of February.
