Time to Act: Two Years On, Data-led Insights on Performing Arts and Disability in Europe
Two years after the influential Time to Act report, a newly released follow-up—commissioned by the British Council and authored by On the Move—offers fresh, data-driven insights into the current state of accessibility and inclusion for disabled artists and audiences across Europe.
This report explores the knowledge gaps and systemic barriers that continue to contribute to inequality in the performing arts sector. It goes further than its predecessor, providing in-depth analysis of developments in international mobility, professional development, and cultural participation for disabled artists.
The research covers all countries participating in the Creative Europe programme, plus Switzerland and the UK, and includes focused case studies on Italy, Poland, and Sweden—three countries where Europe Beyond Access has actively worked to advance inclusion.
This report marks a significant step forward in understanding how the sector has evolved and what still needs to change to create a more equitable cultural landscape.
