Reimagine International Touring: Guidebook and Policy Insights
Two new publications have been released by Perform Europe, an EU-funded project implemented by IETM, EFA, Circostrada, EDN, PEARLE* Europe, and Idea Consult, which explore the experiences of 42 projects funded that experimented with new approaches to cross-border touring. The findings and outcomes are summarised in two volumes: (1) A Guidebook that summarises the experience and invites readers to reflect on their own role; and (2) Levers for Future Policy Development, which are aimed at policymakers and advocacy organisations.
Specifically, 7 levers are identified where policy action should be taken:
- Reframing cross-border mobility for slower, fairer, more equitable exchange
- Incorporating ecological responsibility into touring systems and funding logics
- Embedding access and care as structural conditions for international touring
- Community engagement as a core purpose of international touring
- Funding frameworks that support continuity, care, and transformation
- Redesigning partnerships for fairness and trust
- Building collective learning systems for sustainable touring
