IETM’s Fair Pay in the Arts: the talk of the town or the elephant in the room?

International Network for Contemporary Performing Arts (IETM)‘s  latest release is an insightful resource for anyone interested or involved with policy and advocacy activities that aims to create and establish fair pay policy strategies.

This publication seeks to highlight aspects of the diverse roles and responsibilities that public funders, artists, unions, resource organizations, and institutions can take on when designing, pushing for and implementing fair pay practices.

Additionally, this report is a reminder of the topics that still call for improvement in the frameworks that are in place today and in areas beyond regulatory and legal enforcement. It addresses obstacles that may prevent the integration of fair practices into policies and everyday operations and discusses the various dilemmas within the fair pay debate that may hinder positive change, by presenting examples of successful policies and advocacy processes.
