European Green Festival Roadmap 2030
YOUROPE, the European Festival Association, has published a roadmap that promises to guide festivals towards a greener and sustainable future. This Roadmap, developed as part of Yourope’s three-year project “Future-Fit Festivals” (3F), aims to align the practices of the festivals sector with the guidelines provided by the European Union and the EU Green Deal.
Recognizing the absence of any direct regulations regarding the festival sector in the European Green Deal, YOUROPE wishes to fill that gap and offer all European festival organizers a guide that would not only help them implement their sustainability goals but also ensure that they undergo any needed transformation with success.
The Roadmap offers a comprehensive framework aimed at fostering sustainable practices within cultural events, setting a vision for improvement across seven key fields of action. These actions encompass everything from management structures to practical measures in the creation and production process, providing a detailed guide for festival organizers. As the first pan-European publication of its kind, jointly developed and published by and for the festival sector, the Roadmap is freely accessible to any festival or cultural event across Europe and beyond.
Its relevance extends well beyond the borders of the EU, making it a valuable resource for festival organizers across the globe.
