There is an increasing urge to build a new form of democracy based on the respect for human rights and the will to organize cultural life around a complex identity and not the hegemony of a single language, culture or religion. How can the cultural sector contribute to social justice, cohesion and democratic values when cultural freedom finds itself more and more under threat?
