Beyond the Urban Webinar | 16-03-2020

During this exchange, CAE, IETM, ENCC and TEH presented the joint policy paper “Beyond the Urban – Contemporary arts and culture in non-urban areas as key to a sustainable and cohesive Europe” and collected comments and feedback from policy-makers and cultural operators. These contributions will fuel our future advocacy actions to ensure better recognition of the arts and culture in non-urban and peripheral areas.

The online event was also a chance to present and discuss publications highlighting culture in non-urban areas:
    • CAE, IETM, ENCC and TEH presented “Beyond the Urban – Contemporary arts and culture in non-urban areas as keys to a sustainable and cohesive Europe”, a joint policy paper aiming at supporting culture in non-urban areas. Download it here.
    • IETM launched a new Fresh Perspectives publication, which highlights the valuable contribution contemporary arts have in non-urban areas and brings the views of three experts on sustainable ways to improve conditions for artists working outside urban centres. Find it here.
    • Many of the contributions were also inspired by the “Culture Crops: Culture Action Europe’s Beyond the Obvious 2019 Report”, that you can find here.
