AEC Recommendations for a Sustainable Future in Higher Music Education
Earlier this year, the Association Européenne des Conservatoires (AEC) released a document of recommendations designed to support the green transition of the higher music education sector. The best practices and recommendations included build on research into the needs and practices of the association’s members, including its higher music education institutions and the broader music community.
The document provides insight into how higher music institutions can become more climate and environmentally friendly, including in terms of their operations, events, and projects. The recommendations take into account the complexity of the topics covered, the diversity of practices and needs across higher music education institutions, and how everyone will have varying capacities to implement change.
