CARE: Culture for Mental Health
Ongoing project
November, 2024
- December, 2027
More than 85 million citizens in the EU are affected by mental health problems. Following up on the recommendations of the CultureForHealth project, CARE goes deeper into the topics of youth mental health and work-related well-being. The CARE project leverages the potential of arts and cultural experiences to enhance mental health and well-being of youth, working people and people with disabilities. Stakeholders from culture, health, education and business collaborate on innovative approaches and solutions to improve health and well-being through access to and participation in culture across Europe.
What will the project do?
- Learn: CARE focuses on building cross-sectoral capacity building through training sessions, expert panels, workshops, and counselling. CARE will establish a community of practice via Arts and Health Think Tank and festival makers’ work group. The project will also develop a digital catalogue of artworks on health and well-being.
- Innovate: The project will develop Arts and Health Social Innovation Laboratories focusing on Youth Mental Health, Culture and Work-related Well-being, and Culture on Prescription and Accessibility for people with disabilities which will share guidelines and toolkits.
- Share: CARE will organise six CultureForHealth Mobile Hubs, a travelling festival-like event across European cities (Brussels, Cluj, Ljubljana, Vienna, Riga, Vilnius). The opportunities will boost awareness, advocacy, cross-sector exchange and showcase relevant artworks to the public as well as local, national and EU decision-makers
