SDG Watch: Towards a sustainable European future

September 28, 2016, 2:17 pm

In September 2015, the world’s governments adopted Transforming our world: 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals present a unique opportunity to put the world on a sustainable development path. Now that this universal Agenda is adopted, attention must shift to the translation of the goals and targets into ambitious regional and national implementation strategies.

SDG Watch Europe is a new, EU-level, cross-sectoral CSO alliance of NGOs from development, environment, social, cultural, human rights and other sectors. Its goal is to hold governments accountable for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (SDGs).

SDG Watch Europe, in which Culture Action Europe is an active member, will officially launch on 13 October 2016. Celebrate the first anniversary of SDGs and join us for a reception hosted by the Nord Rhein Westphalia Permanent Representation in Brussels. The evening will feature a range of interesting speakers and informative presentations, followed by drinks and fingerfood. To ensure your participation, please Register here before 5 October 2016.

We also invite you to join our Twitter campaign to raise awareness on Sustainable Development Goals. For 17 days several civil society organisations, activists and policy-makers will be tweeting on SDGs. Follow us on @SDGWatchEurope and support the campaign by using hashtag #SDGWatchLaunch.
