Newsletter | Introducing a Cultural Deal for Europe

December 18, 2020, 12:26 pm

We are pleased to present Culture Action Europe’s latest and last Newsletter of the notorious 2020. We are heading into a new 2021 with a strengthened ambition and a stronger political support to place culture at the heart of the future of Europe.

There will be no sustainable recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic or future for Europe without culture. The European cultural ecosystem is convinced that Europe needs a new Cultural Deal, a transversal, overarching framework that should demonstrate the EU’s political commitment to place culture at the heart of the European project. The Deal aims to ensure that culture reigns in all policy areas and achieves its full potential for the European project: from the green transition to Europe’s geopolitical ambition, from the digital transition to a value-based European Union. This brings together short and long-term perspectives. It considers the immediate relaunch of our societies with the ambition to build a new paradigm to shape Europe’s future.

Our December Newsletter presents the Cultural Deal for Europe, jointly brought to you by Culture Action Europe, the European Cultural Foundation and Europa Nostra (also in its capacity as a coordinator of the European Heritage Alliance) and accompanying #CulturalDealEU campaign. The campaign will propose chain of actions in 2021, follow closely #CulturalDealEU on social media for more information.

We are also happy to launch the new #CulturalDealEU section on Culture Action Europe’s website – browse is for the campaign toolkit and guidelines, lobby and advocacy tools and campaign visuals.
