Green European Journal – Acting Out: Arts & Culture Under Pressure

The Green European Journal has published its 30th edition, which delves into the role of the arts and culture as part of a just ecological transformation. Across 16 different articles, it explores:

  • green approaches to culture;
  • how culture is foundational for democracy;
  • the instrumentalisation of culture by the far-right;
  • cultural resistance and recovery in Ukraine;
  • climate activism in museums;
  • the power of cultural festivals for the green transformation; and much more.

The publication provides a space for exploring what is essential for healthy democracies, both from a green lens and from diverse cultural perspectives, while stressing the importance of dialogue, imagination, pluralism, and mutual understanding.
