Project Launch | Pop the Vote: Culture on the Ballot

Where: online.
When: May 9, 2023 13:00 - 14:00

9 May, Europe Day
13.00 – 14.00 CEST
online

During European Cultural Foundation’s annual Europe Day Festival, Culture Action Europe will officially launch its brand new project, “Pop the Vote: Culture on the Ballot.” Co-funded by the European Parliament, Pop the Vote works with young artists in 13 EU countries to act as Changemakers in their own communities and mobilise them to participate in the European Parliamentary Elections 2024.

From 13.00 – 14.00 CEST, we will host a live interview between Maya Weisinger (Culture Action Europe) and Noelia Martín-Montalvo (Maastricht Institute of the Arts) to discuss her work, especially as it connects with the importance of arts and culture as a political language, civic engagement through art, and the important role young creatives play in shaping the future of Europe.

We will also share details about the “Pop the Vote” project, including how young artists can become a Changemaker and implement creative public engagement projects in their own communities. (We will also unveil the project’s official look!)

Tune in for a special hour kicking off an exciting new project!

Noelia Martín-Montalvo
Noelia is an interdisciplinary art student at the Maastricht Institute of the Arts whose practice focuses on amplifying the stories of those on the front lines of the climate crisis. Working primarily with visual mediums like film and photography, her work relies on participatory storytelling to empower individuals to become changemakers.
