Open Culture! International Conference 2025
The Open Culture! International Conference will take place on 29–30 May 2025 at the Old Market Hall in Bratislava. Organized by the Open Culture platform in collaboration with Vienna Festival (Wiener Festwochen) and a strong network of international partners, including Culture Action Europe, the event will bring together leading voices from across the cultural sector.
Focusing on the worsening state of culture across Slovakia and Europe, the conference will address urgent issues such as growing political interference in artistic freedom, significant budget cuts to cultural funding, and the widening divide between conservative and progressive forces in society.
The aim of the Open Culture! Conference is to:

The conference will welcome representatives of the European Parliament and the European Commission, mayors of European cities, distinguished artists, leading experts, prominent international journalists, and key figures from cultural organizations across Europe.
