Lunchtime Session: The Vertical Formula
How did the FusionACT Centre begin, what motivated its creation, and how has it evolved into a space where different disciplines, communities, and ideas collide?
This lunchtime session will present and explore FusionACT, which was founded with a simple but radical belief: real change doesn’t happen inside one sector alone. It emerges when art meets civic participation, when education meets activism, when media meets youth imagination, and when creative experimentation is given room to breathe. Rather than choosing one lane, FusionACT chose to build a centre where lanes merge — a place designed for fusion.
During the presentation, key milestones and projects that shaped their identity will be shared, from youth-driven storytelling and media literacy initiatives, to art-based advocacy, environmental awareness programs. Each example will illustrate how mixing formats and using “fusion methodology” creates new forms of participation and learning. Rather than presenting a finished model, the session will open dialogue with peers across the network: to exchange experiences, compare approaches, and explore how this “fusion mindset” can create new partnerships and joint initiatives across the region and the wider European context.
