Lunchtime Session | How to advocate for participatory amateur arts
Amateur arts are practised by millions of Europeans -theatre, music-making, singing, dancing, visual arts, creative writing-, but too often policy makers and funders do not understand their significance and their impact on individuals, communities and society.
Funded by Culture Moves Europe and the Goethe-Institute, a group of amateur arts networks came together during the (HE)ARTSBEAT conference in Prague in 2024 to assemble the widest range of arguments into one short document, to be used by amateur arts champions, policy makers, funders all across Europe.
This event will take you through the document in some detail and encourage discussion and questions – this is a living document which can be updated to reflect additional viewpoints. You can read the document in advance of the webinar here.
