CAE Nordic Hub

The CAE Nordic Hub is a regional cultural strategy network that unites cultural actors from Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia. We are the Nordic voice in the European cultural landscape, working to bring the Nordic perspective into EU discussions while also bringing the European voice to the Nordic region. As part of the broader Culture Action Europe (CAE) network, the Nordic Hub plays a key role in strengthening connections between the Nordic countries and the EU, amplifying the cultural and creative sectors within both contexts.

Our Goals

The mission of the CAE Nordic Hub is to strengthen local advocacy efforts by enhancing connections between Nordic cultural actors and the EU. We focus on the following activities to support the cultural sector’s development:

  • Promoting Public Funding Knowledge: Increasing understanding of public funding opportunities among cultural leaders and stakeholders.
  • Raising Awareness Among EU MEPs: Highlighting the importance of culture to Members of the European Parliament (MEPs).
  • Capacity Building: Equipping cultural actors with the tools, knowledge, and support needed to advocate effectively at local, national, and European levels.
  • Improving Artists’ Working Conditions: Addressing the challenges related to the status and working conditions of artists across the Nordic region.

What We Do

The CAE Nordic Hub organizes a range of activities aimed at advancing its mission, including:

  • Workshops and Training: Capacity-building programmes to help cultural stakeholders advocate for culture in policy and funding decisions.
  • Networking and Collaboration: Facilitating opportunities for Nordic cultural actors to connect and share ideas with peers from across Europe.
  • Research and Policy Advocacy: Contributing to policy discussions that emphasize the role of culture in sustainable societal development.

The CAE Nordic Hub invites all cultural and creative professionals, organisations, and policymakers in the Nordic region to join our network.
