Action Group on Working Conditions in the Cultural and Creative Sectors

Culture Action Europe is launching a new edition of the Action Group on working conditions in the cultural sector. Its purpose is to inform the development of the European Commission’s EU Artists’ Charter, through consultation with and grounded in the expertise of our members. The group will be co-facilitated together with Platform ACCT, the Dutch labour market platform for the cultural and creative sector that supports social dialogue and helps implement the Fair Practice Code and practical fair pay tools.

The activity of the group will build on the Working Conditions chapter of the discussion paper ‘Towards the Culture Compass: a Sector Blueprint’ (co-developed with Creative FLIP), which set out initial directions for what the Charter could include. As part of the Action Group, we will convene three online meetings, which you can find more about and register for here:

The deliverable of the Action Group will be a position paper on the EU Artists’ Charter’s principles, governance and implementability so that it is sustainable and delivers real improvements to the working conditions of artists and workers across the cultural and creative sectors.
