New funding round for European cultural networks opened

November 6, 2023, 4:20 pm

A new Creative Europe funding round for European cultural networks has just been opened for the second half of the seven-year financial period. With a budget of over €39.7 million for 2024 – 2027, the call will support representative (policy) networks of organisations with membership in multiple countries to enhance the capacities of European cultural and creative sectors to face common challenges and innovate. The deadline to apply is 7 March 2024.

Identified priorities for the 2024-2027 period feature the topics of working conditions of artists and cultural workers, cultural participation, culture for the planet and sustainable development, as well as the role of culture in the EU’s external relations and in the digital transformation. Such priorities, the call reads, are in line with the implementation of the current Council Work Plan for Culture 2023-2026, including the recent Open Method of Coordination of national experts and Voices of Culture structured dialogue, and in synergy with new initiatives such as the Knowledge and Innovation Community of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology on Culture and Creativity.

In addition, proposals should take into account the programme’s cross-cutting issues of inclusion and diversity, in particular gender balance, and greening of the programme. The selected networks will collectively contribute to shape cultural policies in Europe and generate the knowledge needed to define and implement effective cultural policies

The action is expected to support about 30 networks covering different cultural and creative sectors. As in the past, networks exclusively covering the audiovisual sector are not eligible for funding under this call.
