On 1 June, the Italian members of CAE sent a letter to the candidates Mayor of Rome, inviting the public authority to put culture at the centre of the political strategy of the city. Culture is an essential citizenship right and a crucial element for wellbeing. The letter hopes to inspire the future administration of Rome in taking actions towards the valorisation of the third sector.
This letter follows “CRE-ACTION ROMA. La cultura che crea” (“CRE-ACTION. Culture creates”), a participative discussion held by CAE Italy on cultural policy and renovation, a particularly relevant topic for the city in its recent times.
On 28 April, over 80 operators from different cities and different fields of culture, both public and private, came together to share ideas and identify patterns, tools and best practices for the cultural sector around the keywords citizens, development and community.
The outcome of this day of talks and confrontation is a Strategic Document, made of 10 central points and also sent to the candidates Mayor of Rome with the aim to start a relevant dialogue with social actors, citizens, cultural operators, enterprises, training centres and public administrators.
